The shrine of Godehard (approx. 1140) is among the oldest preserved medieval relic shrines.

The depiction of the Majestas Domini on its front side, surrounded by Holy Mary and John the Baptist, and the throning apostles on the long sides mend into an image of Judgment Day.

The eastward-oriented narrow backside shows the saint himself, surrounded by bishop Bernward, who initiated his canonization, and a further clergyman.
